WHAT IS SQA?
A strength and conditioning program designed specifically for club volleyball athletes.
Strength, Quickness, Agility.
Indy Juniors is proud to have been the first club in Indiana that incorporated a volleyball specific, functional training program for its members. This program has always been offered at NO EXTRA CHARGE to our members. Now most clubs offer this program at an additional cost. Haven\\\'t you paid enough for club already?
WHO IS SQA FOR?
All Indy Juniors Volleyball Club members.
SQA training is mandatory for National Team players; however, it is available and highly recommended for all Regional Team players as well.
WHEN IS SQA?
The schedule may vary from time to time due to weekend tournaments (see your coach for any schedule changes) otherwise SQA is held on: Mondays & Thursdays from 6:00-6:45 pm and on Sundays from 3:15-4:00 pm.
WHAT WILL MY VOLLEYBALL ATHLETE GET OUT OF ATTENDING SQA?
Exercises that focus on volleyball shoulder strength preventing injuries and increasing hitting power.
Cutting-edge techniques that work the scapula stabilizers... the key muscles to developing healthy shoulders.
Shoulder strengthening techniques that DRASTICALLY improve hitting power.
Ankle, knee, and hip triple extension movements developing the right kind of leg strength and explosive power to fly high.
Perform the right lower body exercises important for improving athletic leg strength and power.
Perform single leg strength techniques critical for improving volleyball leg strength and jumping power.
Improve first step quickness and stability that is so important for getting in position to make plays in volleyball.
Develop hamstring and deceleration strength so many volleyball players LACK and is ABSOLUTELY CRUCIAL to help prevent ACL and other volleyball related knee injuries.
Perform powerful plyometric techniques and imperative fast feet movements that all volleyball players must learn.
Perform powerful hip extension techniques that are so critical to jumping high and hitting hard in volleyball.
We will work to activate KEY muscle groups and FINE TUNE movement patterns that get your muscles firing in the right order at the right time to get maximum gains in volleyball performance.
We will develop the core\\\\\\\'s powerhouse, the core center for explosive strength and power.
We will increase your speed, quickness, and vertical jump by training the power activation muscles to work right and get your body firing on all cylinders.
We will work your neurological system waking up sleeping muscles and training your body to approach faster and jump higher.
We will perform techniques that teach you to rocket energy through your body allowing you to take a strong approach, blast-off the ground, and execute a powerful attack.
We will use the RIGHT strategy for correct ordering of exercises trainingthe right muscle groups, at the right intensity, at the right time.
We will use the correct program structure for ENHANCING volleyball energy, strength and conditioning for volleyball the RIGHT WAY making massive gains in strength and explosive power.
We will work the correct set rep scheme and manipulate program design components such as sets, reps, intensity, and volume to maximize your results.
We will have a BLAST using exercise techniques you\\\\\\\'ve never done before which helps avoid staleness and overtraining, encouraging continuous improvement in volleyball strength and performance.
We will go through training cycles CRITICAL to getting the results you want.
Learning how to workout for volleyball can be very fun and exciting,especially when your increased strength and mobility allows you to makeoutstanding plays seem effortless.
However, the direction you head at the outset of training is very important. You don\\\\\\\'t want to be doing the wrong exercises, wasting your time, and possibly injuring yourself.
SPECIAL NOTES TO PARENTS REGARDING SQA
If you peek into an SQA training you may see the girls kickboxing, doing yoga or hip-hop, running through hurdles & cones, playing dodge ball, or doing some unconventional workouts that look crazy.
Please be assured that all workouts are designed to make sure the girls not only excel in their volleyball skills & athleticism as listed above but, that they enjoy themselves while doing it.
Please make sure that either your daughter, your daughter?s coach or you stay in communication with Trish should your daughter suffer an injury or an illness that keeps her away from our trainings.
SQA has been designed and developed to create stronger and healthier athletes purely for the benefit of your volleyball player(s).
